Software QA Tester

Description
The successful candidate will join a small, highly skilled Internal Development team to test Microsoft-based software. Projects include both internal and external Web sites, Web services and custom distributed applications. Responsibilities include testing the functional enhancements of existing systems and many new systems to support business needs. The Software QA Tester will develop, implement and document all testing activities. He/she will be very proficient with Web technology and have excellent SQL Server database skills. This position combines the fast pace and excitement of a small company with the solid processes of a larger corporation. It makes for a challenging,enjoyable working environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform test planning and quality assurance of Web applications prior to release
• Develop, execute and maintain automated and manual test scripts
• Write and execute SQL queries to interpret test results and create test data
• Work closely with product management and developers to ensure
  functional requirements are met
• Defect reporting and tracking, including follow-up and issue resolution

Skills

• 3 years of QA testing with knowledge of software development life cycle
  principles and test methodologies
• Automation testing using Mercury QuickTest Pro, Winrunner
• Microsoft .NET, ASP, HTML and SQL Server 2000
• Ability to quickly learn complex software applications on which testing
  will be performed
• Strong interpersonal communication skills
• Detail oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines
• Excellent organizational skills, with ability to juggle many tasks and manage
  multiple priorities
• A self starter who constantly looks for areas of improvement

Education:

• 4 year technical degree or at least 3 years equivalent experience.
