Why is it so important to keep updating my operating system?
Even the best security software cannot protect your computer from hackers that exploit some vulnerability in the operating system.
By default, the Windows operating system is set to update automatically. When a new update is available, it is downloaded and installed without user action. You may change this setting according to your individual needs, but it is not recommended to disable the updater completely.
To check manually for new updates of MS Windows operating system, click the Start icon in the lower left corner of your screen and select All Programs. From the All Programs menu, select Windows Update.
